Whether you do dressage, eventing, showing, or trail riding, our common interest is to encourage equine activities of all kinds, create good will, work with town officials and conservation groups, and promote public awareness of horse safety.

To all Equestrians Riding in Pepperell Nissitissit Meadows
** Please **

Keep to the perimeter and do not
gallop across the meadows.  The
field is a ground nesting site for birds
and hayed during the summer and
fall.   Gopher holes also make it
dangerous.

When the ground is soft, especially
in Spring mud season, please keep to a walk.  This photo, taken in February, 2018, shows the huge divots left even by a walking horse.

This applies to all trails:   if your horse is leaving deep hoof prints and throwing up divots, you are going too fast! Hollis closes their trails completely to horses during mud season; please ride responsibly!

PHOA Annual Fall Frolic Trail Ride

URGENT: PHOA TRAIL RIDE CANCELLED! WE ARE REGRETFULLY CANCELLING THE TRAIL RIDE SCHEDULED FOR SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 4TH.

The incessant rainy weather has made Nissitissit Meadows, where we park the trailers, so waterlogged that any vehicle traffic is likely to cause serious damage to the fields. With more rain in the forecast, conditions are only likely to deteriorate further. We have consulted with the Pepperell Conservation Commission, which was very concerned about the conditions and potential damage at the site and they concur with our decision to cancel. Hope to see you next fall! Thanks for your understanding..
